If the past year of my life has had a theme, it would be: loss. Change is inevitable, sure, but so much change—and so much change happening so quickly after years of relative stability—well,  I'm one tough cookie, but it was still the most difficult year of my life. The silver lining of all this change is definitely growth, but another perk is the freedom that it brings.

So, when the opportunity to apply for an absolutely crazy and ridiculously amazing adventure presented itself, I thought, "Sure! Why not at least try?!" And with 100,000 other applicants, I knew my chances were slim approaching zero. The thing is, something strange started happening; I continued advancing from one round, to the next round, to the next. I was writing essays, filling out forms, and interviewing. And then, just as suddenly as it started, it all stopped and the waiting began.

Well, the wait is over! And I have exciting news to share: I've been selected to participate in Remote Year. In three short months, (September 1st) I begin traveling the world: a different country/city every month for an entire year!  If nothing changes, here is my itinerary:

1) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

2) Koh Phangan, Thailand

3) Phnom Penh, Cambodia

4) Split, Croatia

5) Prague, Czech Republic

6) Lisbon, Portugal

7) Mexico City, Mexico

8) Bogotá, Colombia

9) Medellín, Colombia

10) Lima, Peru

11) Córdoba, Argentina

12) Buenos Aires, Argentina

I'm thrilled and incredibly excited to share this journey with all of you!
