Brene Brown saved my life. It sounds dramatic, but it's entirely accurate. My introduction to her writing was her book The Gifts of Imperfection (GoI) in fall 2013. It taught me that
Vulnerability is everything.
Trust is a leap of faith.
And Perfectionism is basically walking around in full-body armor (think of a medieval knight). The weight of it draining us of energy and the barrier that it provides making it awkward and difficult to connect with others.
If you are a perfectionist or have tendencies to black-or-white / all-or-nothing thinking, get your hands on a copy of the GoI and read it until you can't reread it anymore.
